Finding Alternative Directions Drug Prevention Programs
Rev. Randy Rowden founder of F.A.D. began his commitment to the community and our youth in 1981 at a small Oakland restaurant. It was at that restaurant that Finding Alternatives Directions (F.A.D) developed the “For Your Eyes Only” Male Pageant. The pageant showcased young men as role models to our community. Now, three decades later F.A.D. has established over a dozen youth oriented programs. These programs have supported hundreds if not thousands of Oakland youth. A majority of our program participants are adults making a life for them through higher education and many are valued employees in the workplace.
